We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Bulletin Closure Engineer in our Engineering Field Support Department located in San Diego, California. Under general supervision with limited review, this position will report to the Field Bulletin Closure/Sustainment Supervisor of the Engineering Field Support Department. The Field Bulletin Closure Engineer will be responsible for the research, coordination and managing of the bulletin workload, maintenance, and closure of assigned field bulletins in support of GA-ASI objectives to improve product safety and reliability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with internal and external customer stakeholders to determine scope, urgency, actions, impacts, and compliance of field bulletins
  • Create and interpret database reports
  • Perform data analysis using various databases and Microsoft Excel
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, bill of materials, specifications, technical documents, and technical publications
  • Research all applicable GA and customer databases to determine field bulletin status for affected customers (Ultraman, NALCOMIS, REMIS, UAS-I, ACN, SAP, COLTS)
  • Review bulletins closure assessment prior to stakeholder review and signature approval
  • Obtain stakeholder concurrence and approval for bulletin closures
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

    Job Qualifications:
    Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelor's degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.Strong technical writing skills - must be able to convey complex technical issues in a clear, concise mannerExperience working on aircraft (military or commercial) is highly desiredAbility to work independentlyMust be able to effectively work with multi-disciplined technical and non-technical staffStrong familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is requiredWorking knowledge of SharePoint is highly desiredMust have thorough database research experienceMust possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problemsMust have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasksAble to work extended hours as requiredAbility to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearance is required
