AM-related software solution development and exploration efforts,
both in support of our AM manufacturing and engineering development
activities. This role will take the lead to support DfAM for
multiple engineering application development, explore and qualify
current and new software solutions to support both design and
manufacturing of AM components, support manufacturing needs, as
well as drive DfAM-related knowledge transfer efforts. Although
this position is part of the Aircraft Systems Manufacturing group,
this position will be a key interface role between various other
internal and external stakeholders such as Design Engineering,
Document Controls, M&P Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering
and Quality Engineering, while serving as subject matter expert
(SME) to help integrate DfAM and Technical Data Package components
into GA-ASI---s products, processes and its supply chain. This

practices, and best SW solutions to support DfAM activities. Acting
as key interface with design engineering stakeholders, with direct
design efforts, and/or acting as DfAM advisor. Support and lead
DfAM software technology exploration, assessment, incubation and
documentation. Support and lead AM manufacturing simulation and
build pre-compensation solution exploration, assessment, incubation
and documentation. Support and drive design engineering---s
learning and teaching of DfAM; lead the implementation of the
training strategy and structure, as well as supporting engineering
and manufacturing guideline documentation. Support manufacturing
needs in generation of specialized support structures especially
related to (but not limited to), metal LPBF using CAD or
specialized SW such as Magics and others. Lead efforts to define
and deploy AM Technical Data Package (TDP) within GA and with its
AM suppliers. Support efforts to track and structure all TDP data,
and the establishment of a database infrastructure to capture all
AM-related data sets. Responsible for DfAM process development,
documentation, qualification, implementation, and continuous
improvement to enhance quality / yield, reduce cost, improve part
performance and improve productivity / schedule. Support AM
Manufacturing Engineers to implement lean manufacturing process
improvement projects across several AM technologies (FDM, SLS,
metal LPBF, metal DED, AM tooling, etc.). Participation in internal
and external AM group representation (e.g. conferences,
collaboration groups, executive management reviews, etc.) We
recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals
with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified
individuals to apply. Job Qualifications: Typically requires a

part nesting, thermal management, material coupons, and
post-processing. Direct experience with the entire metal LPBF AM
workflow, from business considerations, design, pre-print
considerations and planning, industrialization process (production
use cases), printing, post-processing and part qualification
process. Experience with AM-specialized SW solutions such as
Magics, 3DXpert, Insight and/or others, for support generations,
build orientation, as well as pre-build simulation and
pre-compensation. Special emphasis on metal LPBF, but experience
with plastic-base technologies such as FDM and SLS is highly
desirable. Experience with generating DfAM training documentation
and development of best practice methodology, as well as teaching
other engineers. Experience with AM suppliers (service bureaus,
materials, software and hardware providers, etc.) Background
