Job Description:
We have a part-time (Mondays) opening for a friendly, organized,
professional Dental Hygienist. We are a high end fee-for-service
private practice with a uniquely steadfast San Diego legacy, in
operation since the late 1960s. Families, professionals, and
retirees come to our practice to experience a more
"traditional"-feeling dental home, honest assessments, warm
service, patient education, and high-quality care. Most important
to the patient following is friendly, gentle demeanor, followed
closely by detailed attention to the technical RDH skill set.

dentistry with an open mind and willingness to learn & continuously
improve, because that's the daily mindset of me, the owner-dentist
writing this job advertisement! You will have a lot of fun with our
supportive atmosphere, talented team, and legacy San Diego patient
base.
Your main function will be to help our patients achieve and
maintain optimal oral health by performing adult prophylaxis,
periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planning, assisting the
doctor in performing examinations, providing oral health education,
and delivering home care recommendations. Your secondary function
will be everything else to help keep our unique practice humming
along. When your patient falls ill on short notice, be ready to
help answer phones, sterilize operative instruments, take
radiographs, general cleanup, etc. Help us continue to thrive and
keep our special brand of enjoyable private practice alive.
You must have a current state license. New and experienced

Dental Hygienist Duties and Responsibilities:
-Maintain current health information for all patients
-Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
-Acquire digital x-rays and photography when necessary
-Perform meticulous plaque, calculus, and biofilm removal for
patients
-Educate patients on optimal home care for maximum plaque and
biofilm removal
-Provide clear communication with referring offices following
patient treatment
-Sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to
protocol
-Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed
office procedures and protocols.
-Prepare patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming,
soothing, seating, and draping patient.
-Clean room after patient care adhering to office infection-control
guidelines
-Restock treatment area
Dental Hygienist Requirements and Qualifications:
-Current California license as Registered Dental Hygienist
-Minimum 2 years experience as a registered dental hygienist
-Excellent understanding of current recommended dental hygiene
procedures, and use of related instruments and equipment, for
excellent biofilm and plaque removal
-Perform recommended cleaning, maintenance, and sharpening of
instruments
-Excellent communication skills with patients, team members, and
referring offices
-Maintain patient confidence and keep information confidential, for
HIPAA compliance
-Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with
procedures, rules, and regulations
-Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control
policies and protocols
-Continual self-development through continuing educationSkills:
