Seeking a Registered Nurse for a skilled nursing facility within a
hospital setting. The position involves working with the same
ancillary staff as an acute care hospital while adhering to
regulations of skilled nursing facilities. The patient population
includes many short-term rehab patients, such as those recovering
from fractures and strokes or those requiring long-term IV
antibiotics. The average length of stay for patients is typically
2-3 weeks. Common diagnoses include osteomyelitis and recovery from
hip and knee replacements or fractures. The facility comprises 8
rooms with 16 beds, with an average daily census of 10 patients.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:5, with a maximum of 1:7,
which is rare. Every other weekend is required, and nurses will
float within areas of competency in MedSurg. There is no on-call
requirement. The facility uses an Omnicell medication system and
documentation is done through Meditech Expanse. Communication is
maintained through SBAR protocols. Candidates must have 2 years of
relevant experience. Navy blue scrubs are required, and they must
