Job Summary:

A Southwest Key Programs Trainer facilitates core-curriculum training using a variety of delivery methods to promote learning and retention of knowledge of required skills, policies and practices required for employee success.

Delivers training to promote evidence-based learning as measured by the quality of training by participant surveys and assessments.
Understanding of the content required to deliver in order to provide high level training and facilitation. Successfully engages and facilitates participant learning.
Meets all logistics and communication requirements and practices related to training, including but not limited to training room coordination and setup and completing training credit requirements in SWK's LMS.
Serves as a partner and team member to other trainers and program staff to achieve program compliance objectives.
Analyzes, reports, and communicates data relating to training compliance program management.
Participates in projects and work groups. Promotes, develops, and maintains professional relationships with all site personnel.

Essential Functions:
Become content expert on required training curriculum to achieve high-quality and effective training for staff.
Track and report on training compliance data and utilize the data to build appropriate and effective training schedules for the program to ensure staff are completing training by due date.
Delivery and facilitation that ensures the quality of training and participant satisfaction and learning.
Build and sustain effective and professional working relationships with Program Leaders in order to partner to schedule training and assign staff who require the training to attend.
Supervises classroom during training delivery to ensure all staff follow classroom guidelines, are in attendance and on time, and fulfill the necessary requirements of the course objectives.
Communicate effectively to Program and Regional Leaders daily regarding training status, behavioral concerns, attendance tracking, and any additional pertinent information relating to the achievement of effective training.
Understands fundamental instructional design theory to be able to provide feedback to Regional and National Learning & Development leaders relating to the content of training to improve training outcomes.
Utilizes, updates, and maintains program and staff training records on the learning management system (LMS) by providing credit to all learners upon the completion of each training session, uploading documents as required, and updating/troubleshooting staff user profiles as requested or needed by the program.
Obtains and maintains all necessary accreditations and certifications for Southwest Key training, including, but not limited to CPR/First Aid, non-violent crisis intervention, Residential Child and Youth Care Professional Curriculum, and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR).
Responsible for the collection and storage of sign-in sheets per Southwest Key policy for all training sessions delivered.
Effectively assesses the classroom delivery and learner retention to ensure training objectives are met.
Assists in maintaining an inventory of training supplies and materials and submits purchase requests when necessary to ensure adequate inventory.
Reviews learner evaluations and feedback for continuous professional development and self-improvement.
Attends all organizational required trainings related to Program, Regional, and/or National updates.
Assist with the submission of monthly SWK reports, quarterly report data, and end of year reports as necessary.
Provide and gather information as needed for SWK and/or ORR and State Licensing monitoring activities.
Assist with the coordination of special educational events, educational outings, Student Council activities, and other meaningful experiences for SWK learners to promotes volunteerism.
Assist in the evacuation of UAC as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences.
Travel as needed for trainings and conferences or to transport UAC to destinations within the U.S.
Maintain any professional or para-professional certifications acquired while employed with SWK.
Demonstrates flexibility in order to react to change productively and be willing to handle other essential tasks as assigned by program and regional leadership.

Ensure that all employees are in compliance with SWK, state and federal training requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required in the field of Education, Social Service or related field.
Minimum of two (2+) years of experience delivering training to adult learners in a variety of learning methods.
One to two (1-2) years of paid or unpaid experience working with youth.
Knowledge of adult learning theory, various learning styles, and curriculum design principles.
Excellent Public Speaking skills.
Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Excel).
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
Immunization documentation of Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (td/Tdap), Varicella, Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Hepatitis A and B
Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
Cleared drug test results (Texas programs only)
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Demands:

Must be able to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and First Aid Certification (CPR). Must be able to supervise UAC indoors and outdoors by standing for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs. required to complete daily tasks.

Work Environment:

This is a twenty four hour residential facility at which youth receive multiple services. Three shifts per twenty four hour period. Work shifts are subject to change. Noise level varies from mild to moderate. Trainer must maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the training needs of program staff working all three shifts.%6143258%
