Job Purpose:

Assists in the promotion of golfing activities and provides professional golf services

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in the promotion of golfing activities by proactively speaking with guests to encourage golf play, coordinating school of golf, marking the course with hazards and stakes, controlling and managing play, managing golf tournaments and handicap program as needed, resolving guest concerns, and referring complex problems or concerns to the Golf Operations Manager and/or Golf Operations Director. - 35%
• Provides professional golf services by forecasting and providing golf lessons, clinics, golf camps, providing professional golf advice, and assistance and instructions to players. - 35%
• Provides service excellence by acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the golf shop, showing requested merchandise in display cases, entering guest purchase information into the ticketing system and/or property management system, collecting and processing payment and returning applicable change following established procedures. - 15%
• Assists with the daily golf operation by scheduling and assigning duties to golf shop personnel based on business volume, instructing staff on correct golf procedures, supervising and training golf shop attendants, providing guidance to Marshall/Starters, ensuring guest check-in and fee collections as instructed by the Golf Operations Manager. - 10%
• Assists Golf Merchandising Manager by researching and analyzing new products, presenting recommendation to Golf Merchandising Manager, procuring approved merchandise, receiving, organizing, and placing delivered items in cabinets and on shelves, wiping and restocking shelves, counters, rearranging merchandise in display cabinets, and cleaning cashier stations according to established procedures. - 5%

  Essential:
  

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Active LPGA or PGA classification
• 2 years Golf guest service experience Desirable:
  
  • Golf Resort experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Cash handling experience
  • Retail experience Skills and Knowledge:
    
    Essential:
    
    • Working knowledge of all rules and procedures applicable to golf
    • Ability to interact effectively with staff, guests and students
    • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
    • Ability to understand and verbal directives and written instructions
    • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
    • Ability to provide guidance to staff members
    • Ability to accept constructive criticism
    • Ability to appear for work on time
    • Ability to sit or stand for up to eight hours at a time

    • Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports
