SDYS Job Announcement: Bilingual Mental Health Clinician ECBHC San Diego Youth Services provides vital services to more than 28,000 youth every year at 100+ community and school locations. Responsible for the development and maintenance of an integrated treatment approach for at-risk youth with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and quality trauma informed youth services, including providing crisis management, family, individual, and group psychotherapy. Clinician will be asked to provide psychotherapy services at several area schools, clinic, home, and community setting. In addition, clinician will be required to participate in weekly interdisciplinary treatment teams and present cases for clinical feedback. Position requires travel throughout East County and participation in on-call rotation. Duties : + The development, implementation, and evaluation of an integrated treatment approach for youth with co-occurring psychiatric and substance disorders and quality trauma informed youth programs that adhere to and uphold the rigorous standards of San Diego Youth Services as mandated by its mission, purpose, guiding principles and standards of quality. + Participate in training, developing and providing input for evaluating volunteers. + Provide crisis intervention, clinical mental health assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual/family/group therapy for identified high risk youth and their families either at clinic, home, and community or in school setting. + Participate in rotation of managing after ? hours phone and be willing to provide evening appointments. Serve on-call/stand-by duty as assigned. + Responsible for assuring all youth are provided screening measures that assesses for a wide range of behavioral, mood, and substance related concerns. + Carry a clinical caseload of 25-30 clients. + Complete clinical assessments and notes within (MIS) Cerner system no longer than 10 days from service delivery date. + Welcome and treat youth with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders as having two primary conditions each requiring attention. + Provide trauma-informed care coordination with all service partners and family members and with integrated primary care and other treatment providers as needed. + Achieve 1,200-minute weekly productivity standard. + Conduct outreach within community as well as maintain linkages with existing community partners to ensure continuous effort to increase and/or maintain referrals. + Maintain regular contact with outside providers invested in client treatment such as psychiatrists, psychologists, medical doctors, probation officers, school counselors, etc. in order to strengthen treatment collaboration. + Actively participate in the training and practice of solution focused brief therapy in order to continue evidence-based treatment initiative. + Participate in weekly Treatment Team review, Clinical Supervision, and all mandated County training meetings. + Develop and implement transition to adulthood plans and attend IEPs. + Ensure that all medical records are maintained according to the agency, program, and County standards for documentation of services including but not limited to behavioral health assessments, service plans, progress notes, medical history, and legal consents. + Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of service-partner protected health information and other applicable information and material in accordance to agency and center polices, and applicable regulations and laws including HIPAA. + Follow all legal and ethical guidelines pertaining to the treatment of youth and families as per state and county requirements (e.g. Child Abuse Reporting, Duty to Warn, Confidentiality, Grievance Procedures, Informed Consent, Serious Incident Reporting). + Maintain a working knowledge of MIS (Cerner) system. + Maintain a minimum of 20 hours of clinical-related training per year (as per your start date), 8 of which must be in Cultural Competency. + Must maintain good working knowledge of SDYS Policy and Procedure Manual and the County of San Diego Outpatient Policy and Procedure Manual. + Must contribute to the maintenance of a positive clinic environment. + Assist in helping to maintain the day-to-day cleanliness, order, and safety of the physical facility and grounds. + Assist in maintaining a warm and welcoming setting. + Respond to service-partners during a crisis or urgent matter, including those that occur outside of normal business operating hours, by implementing and following the on-call procedures whenever the rotation of on-call falls into the scope of responsibilities for the assigned period. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Physical Requirements: Must have ability to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch to assist youth. Must have ability to hear and speak to exchange information and make presentations. Must have ability to lift and carry 20 pounds--lifting books, materials and equipment to execute sessions and/or presentations. Seeing to read, prepare and review a variety of activities and to monitor youth activities. Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Walking extended lengths to move around campuses. Potential exposure to physical injury from aggressive behavior. Qualifications : Licensed or license-eligible in Marital and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology. Minimum of one-year experience providing therapy for adolescents and their families. Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Arabic) required. Experience working with at-risk youth and co-occurring knowledge strongly preferred. Must have or be willing to train in the Solution Focused Brief Therapy orientation and/or training in Motivational Interviewing. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment; experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis programs preferred. Must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Science or Board of Psychology and be in good standing. Must have knowledge of case plan development. Must have strong collaboration skills with internal supports and with public entities or agencies. Familiarity with juvenile justice and social service systems preferred. Must possess excellent oral and written skills. Must have reliable vehicle and relevant auto insurance, plus a clean driving record. Must be able to work efficiently remotely; be able to follow all the guidelines provided by the agency, government and health authorities to maintain safety and health when the job requires physical presence and/or contact with others during the COVID-19 pandemic.
