The role will contribute to the design and the synthesis of peptides and bioconjugates. This position will drive deliverables to meet project needs using both internal and external resources.ACCOUNTABILITIES ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Manage peptide chemistry internally and at external contract research organizations (CROs) including project tracking, building chemistry plans, compound management, troubleshooting, evaluation and analysis of data.
  • Develop and optimize peptide and conjugation protocols utilizing novel chemistries and technologies.
  • Drive and contribute to the peptide and chemistry function for one or more drug discovery projects, working in close collaboration with partners including in vitro and in vivo pharmacology, computational chemistry, DMPK, structural biology and other key functions.
  • Manage external partners to ensure deliverables meet project needs and timelines.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills to support the achievement of key goals under strict timelines.DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise
    • Experience in the design, synthesis (manual and automated SPPS) and purification of peptides
    • Experience with peptide SAR (potency, stability, ADME, solubility and aggregation) and peptide drug discovery.
    • Experience with protein chemistry and bioconjugation chemistry is preferable
    • Experience with phage display is preferable
    • Experience in analytical techniques such as: Reverse Phase (RP-HPLC), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS), Ultraviolet Spectroscopy (UV), Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC-HPLC), Ion Exchange (IEX), Size Exclusion (SEC), gel electrophoresis of biomolecules under reducing and non-reducing conditions
    • Up-to-date knowledge of the field and key technology advancements
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently, prioritizing accordingly.Leadership

      • Able to multitask efficiently to support SAR generation across multiple projects.
      • Able to lead in a highly matrixed, cross-functional organization

              • Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry/ Biochemistry/Chemical Biology or other relevant discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
              • MS with 9+ years experience, or
