staff.Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for a
Developmental Specialist II to work under the supervision of an
Early Intervention/Developmental Services Supervisor. The
Developmental Specialist II provides an array of developmental
services, which may include: newborn and infant screenings,
assessments, and home or center-based treatment, for children
demonstrating developmental delays. Individuals with these
credentials may also coordinate mini-grant
projects.Responsibilities:Completes newborn screenings, including
assessment of the maternal/infant dyadic interaction. Plans
appropriately for treatment and referrals to address needs.
Explains results, including recommendations for services to address
the child's needs, and provides anticipatory guidance to
parents.Provides developmental screenings and/or assessments to
infants, and young children for purpose of establishing basal
skills and monitoring progress. Explains results, including
recommendations for services to address the child's needs, and
provides anticipatory guidance to parents.Provides developmental
services under various programs, including but not limited to
behavioral intervention (i.e., positive behavior support), infant
massage, parenting classes and developmental
stimulation/enhancement in one-on-one or in a group setting to
patients 0-5 years, according to the treatment plan approved by
Supervisor.Provides home visitation to families with children with
special needs. Responsibilities also include assisting with
scheduling home visits, maintaining regular communication and
sharing information with parents/caregivers; modeling (for the
parents/caregivers) stimulation and intervention techniques;
monitoring child and family progress in the home; assessing the
home environment; and communication with service coordinator.Works
effectively as a member of the treatment team and consults with
supervisors and other team members. Participates in case
conferencing meetings, IFSP meetings, and in program planning
meetings. Communicates client needs clearly and in a timely manner
to Care Coordination. Participates, and may assist in providing,
presentations for staff and patients.Completes all required
documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in
accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation
complies with patients' insurance requirements and FHCSD protocols,
as appropriate.Actively monitors and manages own schedule. Follows
protocol for no shows and cancelations; Confirms appointments and
fills empty slots; keeps schedule full. When conducting home
visits, plans effectively for efficient use of time and resources.
Meets expectations for productivity standards.Performs other duties
as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor's level degree plus additional
experience/certification in related Social-Emotional and Behavior
Intervention (e.g., EC-SEBRIS certificate), OR Master's degree in
Child Development or Psychology related fields.CPR
Certification.Experience with infants and maternal/infant dyads,
and young children (ages 0-5 years) is
required.*Familiarization/use of diagnostic tests and child-parent
interaction programsBilingual English-Spanish is required.Knowledge
of applicable laws (i.e., mandated reporters), assessment
techniques, Early Intervention techniques and Developmentally
Appropriate Practices and their applications to the 0-5 population
when serving individuals or groups. Additionally, has knowledge and
experience related to infant development, attachment, and working
with infants and their mothers.Knowledge of cognitive, motor,
communication, emotional, and social development and milestones and
red flags in the 0-5 population. Understanding of the Newborn's
behavior and his/her regulatory system; knowledge of abnormal
reflexes and other concerns.Ability and means to travel as needed
in a timely manner within San Diego County, to locations that may
have limited access to public transportation; proof of liability
and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required. DRIVER
REQUIREMENTS: Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No more than 2
violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related
suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving with

fringe benefits or potential bonuses.$26.25 - $33.63If you are
hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary
compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic
location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or
experience. In addition to these factors we believe in the
importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our
current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in
mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to
pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be
typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
