Job Description Taylor Guitars is looking for strong leaders
with at least eight years of manufacturing experience to lead our
Neck and Final Assembly production departments. Our ideal
candidates will have a background in woodworking, CNC machinery, or
guitar building experience. Proven experience leading and
developing manufacturing talent within a fast-paced environment. If

The Production Department Manager implements and coordinates
manufacturing processes and quality standards within the respective
production department. Executes and ensures all processes of
materials and manufacturing products are aligned with company
standards. Mentors and develops production department supervisors
and department leads. Creates a climate where people are motivated
to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ---Manages the production and
quality control of the respective department. ---Assesses tooling,
fixtures, material, or resource requirements for department.
---Accountable for timely delivery of daily production quota, and
removing roadblocks that prohibit the ability to meet quota (e.g.
behind guitars, tooling or fixture issues, material/resource
shortages). ---Ensures continuous improvement projects are
initiated, planned, and implemented successfully. ---Assists with
R&D projects ongoing in the department. ---Works to ensure that
minimum parts per person goals/standards are met and sustained.
---Accountable for First Pass Yield (FPY) and rework in the
department. ---Develops new department procedures. ---Financially
responsible and works to increase efficiencies and reduce waste.
---Works with the Purchasing team in regards to quality of material
and routine usage audits. ---Coaches Supervisors in the correct
decisions and is responsible for the final approval on pay
increases, promotions, reprimands, terminations, or other personnel
matters. ---Oversees the supervision of personnel within
department; reviews appraisals of performance (written by
supervisors), and guides Department Supervisors to manage and
resolve employee issues. ---Provides regular feedback; recognizing
accomplishments and embracing tough conversations when necessary.
---Coaches, mentors, and develops direct reports to maximum
potential. ---Works with Human Resources as needed to resolve
employee conflicts. ---Ensures employees are trained and adhere to
company and departmental procedures. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education
and Experience: Manufacturing and /or Mechanical Engineering Degree
preferred. Five to eight years of Manufacturing experience in
managing and leading production within manufacturing. Experience in
woodworking and/or metal fabrication production processes
preferred. Experience with CNC machinery is preferred. Computer
Skills: Intermediate level working within Excel and Microsoft
Office Suite with the ability to learn new software applications.
